Risk of Death Calculator | 1, 5, and 10-Year Mortality Risk
A statistical risk of death calculator. Estimate your probability of dying within the next 1, 5, or 10 years based on actuarial mortality tables.
How the risk is calculated
The calculator uses approximate annual probabilities of death by age and sex for the general North American population, interpolated between ages on a log scale (death rates rise roughly exponentially with adult age — the Gompertz law of mortality). It compounds those yearly probabilities over 1, 5 and 10 years.
The result is a population figure for someone of your age and sex. It does not account for your health, and it is a rough estimate rather than an exact life-table value.
Results are statistical estimates based on population-level research, not individualized medical advice. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before making health decisions.
