Age of Death Calculator | Estimate Your Expected Age of Death
Calculate your statistical expected age of death and visualize how much time you have remaining in days and weeks.
How this age-of-death estimate is calculated
The calculator looks up your remaining life expectancy — the average number of further years lived by Canadians of your exact age and sex — in Statistics Canada's 2020–2022 life tables, and adds it to your current age.
Because it uses life expectancy at your current age rather than at birth, the estimate rises as you get older. A Canadian man's life expectancy at birth is about 80 years, but one who has already reached 70 lives on average to about 87.
What the number does and doesn't mean
This is a population average from a period life table, which assumes today's death rates stay fixed for the rest of your life. It is not a prediction of when you will die: many people live well past it, and smoking, fitness, weight and chronic conditions move an individual's outlook substantially.
